Second Take Home Exercse

 

一、自選一個碳與矽的贗勢,針對鑽石排列的結構,進行平面波截止動能對總能的收斂性測試,並比較之。

1. Choose a carbon and silicon psuedupotential, construct diamond structure of this two elements, and perform E_tot vs. E_cut onvergence.

 

二、基於 C2H2(乙炔)、C2H4(乙烯)、 C2H6(乙烷) 的鍵級趨勢,評估 C6H6 (苯) 的鍵級。

2. Based on the bond order trend of C2H2, C2H4, C2H6, estimate C-C bond order of C6H6.

 

三、透過 CASTEP 計算,闡明一維(等間距)的氫原子排列會不穩定的機理。

3. Using CASTEP calculatoin, demonstrate 1D (equal spacing) hydrogen atom arrangement is unstable.

 

四、Ge 是直接能隙、還是間接能隙?那著名藍光 LED 材料 GaN 呢?

4. Is Ge direct or indirect band gap ? And how about the famous blue light LED material GaN ?

 

五、調整 Hubbard U,使 NiO 可以重現實驗能隙。

5. Adjust Hubbard U, so that NiO reproduce experimental band gap.
